A man sentenced in April to up to 150 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in Shadyside was found guilty of similar charges Friday in an attack seven weeks earlier in Butler County, court records show.

In less than an hour, a jury found Ralph Skundrich, 47, guilty of rape, burglary, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, terroristic threats and incident assault, according to court records.

Police said he broke into a woman's apartment at 2 a.m. June 6, 2002 in the Laurelwood Apartment Complex along Rochester Road in Cranberry, threatened to kill her and her young child, who was asleep in an adjacent, and raped the woman. Investigators said DNA linked Skundrich to that attack.

He was sentenced April 17 to 75 to 150 years in prison after DNA connected him to the sexual assault in Shadyside. Skundrich awaits sentencing in the Butler attack in the Butler County Jail. Court documents indicate Skundrich is also awaiting trial on burglary and drug charges in Westmoreland County.
