A.W. Beattie Career Center's $8.8 million 2014-15 budget was adopted during last night’s regular meeting even though North Hills School District’s board rejected it last week and North Allegheny and Hampton school districts have not yet voted.

According to Thomas Schwartzmier, joint committee president, the school received approval for Beattie’s proposed budget from six of the school’s nine sending districts.

Large increases in retirement funding and uncertain health care costs are two financial issues contributing to a $743,000 increase in next year’s tuition.
