The Babcock Boulevard Bridge over Girtys Run in Shaler will be closed tonight and Wednesday night as a rehabilitation project begins, PennDOT announced.

Alternating one-way traffic using the northbound side of the bridge will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays starting today; the overnight closures will begin at 10 p.m. and conclude by 6 a.m. The closure is between Greenhill and Schaefer roads.

The bridge also may close Thursday and Friday nights but PennDOT has not yet confirmed that.

For the duration of the project until August, the bridge will close at 10 p.m. daily, reopening by 6 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
