A state police fire marshal is trying to determine the cause of an early morning fire that heavily damaged a country club near the town in Clearfield County.

The fire at the DuBois Country Club was reported about 2 a.m. Monday. The facility is located about 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

The fire heavily damaged a building that houses a banquet facility, executive offices and a bar and grill.

Firefighters say flames had broken through the roof by the time they arrived.

The fire was out by dawn, though crews remained on the scene mopping up and assessing the damage.
