First Merit Bank branch in Lawrence County robbed

Police are seeking a man who robbed a Lawrence County bank this morning after passing a note to a teller.

The robbery took place about 11:52 a.m. at First Merit Bank branch on Wilmington Road in Neshannock.

No one was injured.

The robber's note asked for money and stated that he had a gun.

Once the teller gave the man an unknown amount of cash, the robber grabbed the note and ran away.

Police described the robber as white, in his mid-20s, about 6-foot-2 with a thin to medium build and unshaven. He was wearing a gray zip-up hooded jacket, blue jeans, boots and a blue stocking cap.

The FBI, Pennsylvania State Police and Hickory police assisted.
