Man killed in Butler crash after attempted traffic stop

After state police in Butler attempted to stop a car today, the vehicle sped away and crashed, killing the driver, police said.

State police in Butler attempted to pull over the car around 1:20 p.m. along Muddy Creek Drive, south of Staff Road in Brady.

The man driving was killed when he crashed the car, state police said. Two children were also in the car, though the extent of their injuries was not immediately available, state police said.

Police are waiting to notify the man's family before identifying him.
