Cheryl A. Mildrich, manager of the First National Bank of Pennsylvania McCandless office, has been promoted to vice president. She will manage branch operations and sales including development of new business and customer service. Ms. Mildrich joined First National in 2005. She had served as manager of First National's West View office and manager of the West View office of NorthSide Bank.

• Two North Hills Senior High School students were among the 11 finalists to represent the Pittsburgh section of the recent American Chemical Society in the United States National Olympiad. Senior Joseph Plazek and junior Matt Pack competed with more than 170 students from 24 schools for prizes, scholarships and the opportunity to compete in the National Olympiad.

• These Quaker Valley High School students have been selected for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District One Honors Choir: seniors Rachel Silverstein and Rebecca Silverstein; juniors Joseph Daval and K.J. Devlin; freshman Gabriela Zucckero.

• Hampton High School junior Madelyn Adamczyk was been selected as one of 26 reporters for the recent One Young World, a global youth leadership summit held from Oct. 18-22 in Pittsburgh. She covered the proceedings, which included an address by former President Clinton and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey.
