A California man was being held Thursday in the Armstrong County Jail on charges that he filmed sex acts with a 17-year-old girl who had been reported missing.

State police in Kittanning wrote in a criminal complaint that Timothy Rodenius, 31, of Ontario, Calif., first contacted the girl online in 2010 and the two exchanged messages saying that she was under 18 and that they "had romantic feelings for each other." Police said the man lied about his age to the young girl, saying that he was first in his teens and later that he was in his 20s.

Troopers wrote that Mr. Rodenius drove the girl to the Quality Inn in West Kittanning on Tuesday and again on Wednesday, when her parents reported her missing. Police confiscated a camera, lingerie and other items from Mr. Rodenius' hotel room and said they found images of Mr. Rodenius performing sex acts on the girl, sometimes restraining her and at one point using a stun gun, according to the complaint.

Mr. Rodenius is being held on charges of child pornography and corrupting a minor. He was being held on $100,000 bail, according to court records.
