A man died in a fire this morning in Indiana County, the county coroner's office said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the blaze on Gaston Road in Canoe Township just after 10:20 a.m., the office said in a news release. His identity is pending DNA analysis. His cause and manner of death are also pending.
The fire was reported just before 8 a.m., the coroner's office said. By the time firefighters arrived, two structures were found to be nearly burnt to the ground, and they discovered the man as they extinguished the blaze.
There was no evidence of foul play, the coroner's office said. Pennsylvania State Police and a fire marshal from the Punxsutawney barracks are investigating.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, the office said.
