Woman, 26, killed in Donegal crash

A woman was killed in a crash Sunday morning in Westmoreland County when the car she was riding in veered off the road and struck several trees, state police said.

Tabitha R. Hough, 26, of Mount Pleasant was pronounced dead at 7:15 a.m. after the crash in Donegal Township, according to county coroner Kenneth Bacha.

Police said Ms. Hough was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling east along Route 130 when, for an unknown reason, it veered off the road, traveled into a grassy area and hit the trees. The accident occurred at 5:49 a.m. near Dillon Road.

The coroner ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and neck; he ruled the manner of death an accident.
