Car crashes into house in Arnold

The driver of a car that crashed into a home in Arnold this morning and the homeowner are in fair condition tonight, police said.

According to Westmoreland County 911 dispatch, the call came in around 10:30 a.m. that a car had hit a home at 2125 Leishman Ave.

The homeowner was standing in the hallway and was struck when the car hit the home, police chief Willie Weber said. She was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital. Her two young children, who were in the living room at the time of the crash, were uninjured, he said.

The driver was alone in the car, and he was was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, the police chief said.

Chief Weber said the crash is under investigation, and it is unclear at this point whether the driver will face charges.
