Gun shop owner killed in Indiana County

Pennsylvania State Police and federal agent are on the scene of a fatal shooting at a gun shop in Indiana County.

Investigators have not briefed the media or released any details on the afternoon incident at Frank's Gun & Taxidermy shop, which operates out of a house in rural Conemaugh.

As of early evening, state police, the county coroner's office and agents with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives remained on scene, their vehicles parked along the driveway leading to the gun shop.

Capt. David Bruzda of the Tunnelton Volunteer Fire Department, which sits across the street from the shop, said the shop's owner was the fatality.

"He's the nicest guy I ever knew," Capt. Bruzda said. "There's two people involved. One is in the house. One is in the hospital."

The state police are conducting the criminal investigation. The ATF responds to any fatal shooting at the premises of a federally licensed firearms dealer to check the store's inventory and make sure no guns have been stolen.
