Several families were left without homes in Johnstown after a Thanksgiving night fire destroyed a small apartment building and water from firefighters' hoses left another home uninhabitable.

No injuries were reported. Fire officials said Friday the fire in Johnstown's Moxham neighborhood started in a vacant duplex. Three buildings were burned down, including two vacant duplexes and an apartment building where about 10 people lived.

Dozens of firefighters from Johnstown and area volunteer companies battled the blaze. Investigators say they couldn't say yet whether the fire was intentionally set.

The son of one victim told WJAC-TV that his mother's house next door received so much water damage that it's no longer inhabitable.

A neighbor, Wayne Coyle, says he saw the blaze around 9:30 p.m. and began pounding on doors.
