The Westmoreland County Fair will be held on the fairgrounds in Mount Pleasant Township. Take the Greensburg/Mount Pleasant exit off Route 30 and travel south six miles to Mount Pleasant Road.

General admission is $7, which includes parking and amusement rides. Grandstand events cost extra.

Judging of farm animals and 4-H events usually are held in the morning and afternoon.

Here are some scheduled events:

Aug. 17

Special admission price for opening day: $4

4 p.m. -- Fair and rides open

6 p.m. -- Westmoreland County Fair Queen contest

8 p.m. -- Farmers Olympics, hay hauling, tractor driving, skid loader rodeo, team cow milking

Aug. 18

Noon to 4 p.m. -- Car show

7 p.m. -- Girlz in Black Hats concert

7:30 p.m. -- Lawn mower racing

Aug. 19

Armed Forces Day: Free admission with military ID

10 a.m. -- Lumberjack Jamboree competition

7:30 p.m. -- Lawn mower, tractor and old-school-rules demolition derby

Aug. 20

10 a.m. -- Judging of dairy cattle, poultry and sheep

6 p.m. -- 4-H pet care show

7:30 p.m. -- Bullride Mania

Aug. 21

7 p.m. -- Whiskey Outlaws concert

7:30 p.m. -- 4x4 Side-by-Side Dirt Drag

Aug. 22

Senior Day: $3 admission for age 55 and older

1-3 p.m. -- Seniors' bingo

3 p.m. -- Stage Right Sensations

7 p.m. -- Switch concert

7:30 p.m. -- Figure 8 derby and '80s and newer demolition derby

Aug. 23

WTAE/Excela Health Family Day: $6 admission; gates open 10 a.m.-11 p.m.

7:30 p.m. -- 4x4 truck and mini-modified tractor pull

Aug. 24

5 p.m. -- 4-H dog show

7:30 p.m. -- Superstock 4x4 truck, limited farm tractors, semi-trucks, road semis and tri-axles

Aug. 25

Noon -- Championship horse pull

7 p.m. -- NOmAD concert

7:30 p.m. -- Powder puff derby and demolition derby.
