Authorities are investigating the death of a Ford City man who was killed Thursday while doing work at a Shadyside home.
According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, Dakota Marshall, 21, died while working at a residence in the 400 block of Morewood Avenue.
The office said it is still working to determine the cause and manner of Mr. Marshall's death.
A spokeswoman with the city’s Bureau of Public Safety said Mr. Marshall was “moving planks when he was exposed to electricity.”
She said Mr. Marshall was taken to UPMC Shadyside, where he was pronounced dead.
Christopher Robinson, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Heath Administration’s director for its Pittsburgh office, said OSHA workers “are on scene and conducting an investigation, which can sometimes take up to six months.”
He added that the office “was not prepared at this point” to discuss what Mr. Marshall was doing during the incident.
