The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh has named Angelica Ocampo as its new president and chief executive officer.
She will begin the job Nov. 16.
Ms. Ocampo is currently the executive director of Worldfund, a New York nonprofit that provides training and other support to public school teachers in Mexico and Brazil.
A native of Argentina, Ms. Ocampo has worked with organizations in Argentina, Colombia and the United States.
“Her skills uniquely position the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh to facilitate the critical conversations and educational programs necessary to help our students and young adults compete and contribute on the global stage,” said N. Cabot Earle, executive vice president at Microbac Laboratories who chaired the search committee for the council.
Steven Sokol, the council’s previous president and chief executive, left earlier this year to become president and chief executive of the American Council on Germany in New York.
