Part of the Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway will be closed this weekend for demolition of the closed pedestrian bridge and stairway at Negley Station, Port Authority announced today.
The closure had been planned for last weekend but was postponed. It will cause detours on the P1 East Busway-All Stops and P3 East Busway-Oakland bus routes.
The busway will be closed between East Liberty bus garage and the Neville Street ramp from 8 p.m. Friday until the end of service Sunday. The P1 and P3 will not serve Negley or East Liberty stations during the closure but will instead serve nearby temporary stops.
The bridge and staircase have been closed since October 2007.
