A Point Park University student was arrested Monday on charges he went to East Deer to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.

Joshua Munoz, 23, originally of Reston, Va., and the girl met through a teen-chat website Saturday and began private messaging each other, exchanging texts and discussing a meeting to have sex, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office said in a press release.

"The investigation is just beginning, and I'm certainly going to be thorough in that and defend the charges vigorously," said Mr. Munoz's attorney, David J. Shrager.

He noted that his client had no previous criminal history and was a trained classical dancer studying at Point Park in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Undercover agents from the AG's office, posing as the teen after learning about the exchanges, contacted Mr. Munoz on Monday to arrange a meeting. He was arrested when he arrived at the arranged location.

Mr. Munoz has been jailed on charges including unlawful contact with a minor, attempted indecent assault and criminal use of a communication facility, all felonies. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11.
