Fire damages vacant house in East McKeesport

A three-story home in East McKeesport was heavily damaged by fire early today.

A supervisor with the Allegheny County Emergency Dispatch Center said the fire began at about 5 a.m. at the home in the 900 block of Florence Avenue. No one was injured. The supervisor said reports indicate the house was vacant.

Firefighters worked for hours to knock down the blaze, which had broken through the roof. The scene was cleared at about 8:30 a.m.
