Two men inside a vehicle were shot in Wilkinsburg this afternoon.
One victim is in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.Both men were hospitalized.
Allegheny County Police homicide detectives are investigating.
"We're looking at a potential drug deal as a reason for the shooting," homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman said.
The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. in the 100 block of Village Drive when the men inside a sport utility vehicle were shot, authorities said. They fled and their SUV ended up at Hill and Montier streets.
Police believe the shooter or shooters were on foot, Lt. Schurman said.
The victims were believed to be in their 20s, according to Wilkinsburg police Chief Ophelia "Cookie" Coleman.
The more seriously injured victim was shot in the face and chest, Chief Coleman said.
The other man, who was the driver of the SUV, was shot in the lower back and was able to walk and speak with the paramedics who were treating him, Chief Coleman said.
She said she was unaware of any recent problems that might be connected to the shooting.
