Rialto Street, a key access road to Pittsburgh's Troy Hill neighborhood, will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday, the Pittsburgh Public Works Department announced today.

The street has been closed since August 2011 during PennDOT's reconstruction of the Route 28 connection with the 31st Street Bridge. The project was completed in November, but the city kept Rialto closed for the winter as a safety precaution.

Before the project, it was routinely closed for the winter because of its steepness and the threat in snowy or icy weather that vehicles could slide onto Route 28.
