A 95-year-old woman was killed in a four-alarm fire that destroyed her home Wednesday afternoon in the city's Hill District neighborhood.
KDKA identified the victim as Thelma Witherspoon.
The fire was reported about 12:40 p.m. in the 800 block of Shawnee Street. It spread next door and severely damaged a home where the woman's sister lived, Pittsburgh Public Safety Director Michael Huss said.
