One dead in Homewood shooting

A Homewood man was shot and killed there tonight.

Pittsburgh police responded to a call of five to eight shots fired in the 7100 block of Kedron Street around 6:35 p.m., major crimes Lt. Daniel Herrmann said.

Fredrick Douglas, 28, was found lying on the curb with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg and was pronounced dead at 6:41 p.m., Lt. Herrmann said in a press release.

A motive in the shooting is unclear, the lieutenant said, and homicide detectives are investigating. With information, call the unit at 412-323-7161.
