Pittsburgh police said a man was killed early this morning in a one-vehicle crash along Mooney Road in Hays.

Police said Jason Sedlak, 25, of Munhall, a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene. The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office today said he died of blunt force trauma to the head, and the crash was ruled accidental.

Residents of the area reported that the wreck occurred at 1:13 a.m. in the 800 block of Mooney. Officers responding to the 911 call said they found an SUV overturned with a man inside.

A witness told the officers he heard a loud crash and went outside and saw the driver still inside the vehicle and helped him out. Police said the driver, a 32-year-old man, then ran into nearby woods. Officers with dogs searched the area and found the man sitting in the woods, police said. His identity was not released. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said his vehicle struck a parked car before overturning and that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
