A car stuck on the tracks caused minor delays on the Light Rail Transit system this morning.

The car blocked the inbound Red Line at the Poplar stop for about 35 minutes starting at 6:45 a.m. Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie said passengers on one vehicle were transferred to a trailing car that used the outbound tracks to get around the stuck car. Subsequent service also was switched to the outbound side until the vehicle was towed away.

The tracks were not damaged. Service ran about 10 minutes behind schedule.
