Two teenage boys have been arrested after police said they beat another boy near the Brookline Park recreation center and posted video of the attack online.

Acting Major Crimes Commander Scott Schubert said in a crime alert that a 14-year-old boy was walking near the recreation center when he was attacked about 8:30 p.m. June 20.

Police said the attackers yelled "World Star" and stole his shoe.

"It was learned that 'World Star' is a website that allows people to upload videos of various nature; to include unprovoked assaults on unsuspecting victims," the commander wrote.

The victim went to a hospital, where he was treated for a concussion and bruises.

Zone 6 detectives arrested two teenage boys in connection with the attack Thursday and took them to the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center.

A 17-year-old boy from Brookline and a 14-year-old boy from Beechview faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery and conspiracy in connection with the attack.

"This type of behavior is unacceptable, especially at a city park, and will not be tolerated," the commander said.
