Duquesne Light workers have restored power in Oakland after an underground cable failed.

Smoke from a manhole caused by the cable failure prompted police to close Forbes Avenue from Coltart Avenue to McKee Place shortly after 5 p.m., but traffic now is moving in that area, police said.

Utility spokesman Joey Vallarian said workers restored power about 6 p.m.
