Driver changing lanes injures Pitt police officer in Oakland crash

A University of Pittsburgh police officer was injured this morning when a driver struck him while changing lanes and knocked him off of his motorcycle.

The crash happened near the intersection of Forbes and Meyran avenues shortly before noon.

University spokesman John Fedele said in an email that the officer was treated and released from UPMC Presbyterian.

Pittsburgh police are leading the investigation.
