An on-duty Pittsburgh police officer who was struck Saturday night on the South Side by a vehicle driven by a man charged with drunken driving was not injured, according to a spokesman for the Pittsburgh police.

Diane Richard said the officer, who was on duty at the time, was struck at the intersection of 14th and Carson streets. She said no one was hurt in the mishap though the driver was charged with drunken driving.

An Allegheny County dispatcher said the incident was reported about 11:30 p.m.
