Armed robber takes money from a Highland Park drug store

The Pittsburgh police robbery squad is investigating an afternoon armed robbery in Highland Park.

Zone 5 officers responded to Stanton-Negley Drug Store in the 800 block of Negley Avenue shortly before 12:15 p.m. According to a city police news release, a store employee told police a man had just entered the store, pulled a gun and demanded money, saying, "Give me the money or I'm gonna shoot you."

The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of money from the register and he left the store on foot.

The man is described as black with a light complexion, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. The man has a short black afro and a goatee and was wearing a black hoodie, green fatigue-style pants and a white baseball cap with white circles on the front.
