A Mt. Washington man was ordered to stand trial Friday on charges that he shot and killed a man in the Hill District two years ago.

Cristian Lebron Martinez, 28, was arrested last weekend on charges that he and another man shot 30-year-old Teante Hill on Dec. 30, 2010.

Police wrote in a criminal complaint that they were called to the 2100 block of Elmore Square on Dec. 30 and learned that another person had already taken Mr. Hill to UPMC Mercy, where he died early the next day.

A witness told police that Mr. Lebron Martinez and another suspect, Tersaun Cole, 21, of Carnegie, asked him for marijuana and pulled out guns. Mr. Hill tried to intervene in the ensuing struggle and was shot in the process, police wrote in the complaint.

Both Mr. Lebron Martinez and Mr. Cole face charges of homicide and conspiracy. Mr. Cole is scheduled to go to trial on Dec. 3 and Mr. Lebron Martinez is scheduled to appear in court for formal arraignment on Oct. 31, according to online court records.
