A Brookline man is being held in the Allegheny County Jail today on charges that he drunkenly disturbed a woman while inquiring about tattoos and then attacked an off-duty police officer.
Clinton Keller, 26, faces charges of aggravated assault, defiant trespass, public drunkenness and harassment.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Mr. Keller knocked on the door of a home in the 2800 block of Kenilworth Street and asked the woman who answered if she wanted a tattoo, Commander Scott Schubert of the city's Zone 6 station on the West End said in an alert sent to community members. The woman immediately locked her door.
When an off-duty officer who lives nearby noticed that the man was still standing on the woman's porch several minutes later, he approached Mr. Keller, who then ran screaming toward the officer's porch, the commander said. The officer tried to calm Mr. Keller, who then tried to tackle him, police said.
Zone 6 officers pulled up to the home shortly afterward and arrested Mr. Keller. Mr. Keller was being held in jail today on $25,000 bail. He did not have an attorney on file.
