Two men were arrested today after police said they invaded a home in Reserve, threatened to kill a man in Troy Hill and said they would shoot up a bar.

Thomas Kurzawski, 25, of Carnegie, and Trey Schafer, 24, who has multiple addresses in court filings, were charged with ethnic intimidation, recklessly endangering another person, making terroristic threats and other crimes.

Pittsburgh police were called to Mt. Troy Road shortly after 1 a.m. to assist Reserve police in the search for two men wanted in a home invasion, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

While searching for the suspects, a man stopped officers and told them that two men matching the burglars' descriptions had approached him while he was walking home and threatened to kill him, using racial slurs. He told police that one of the men pulled out a revolver and continued to curse at him.

Police spotted Mr. Kurzawski and Mr. Schafer near the intersection of Goettmann Street and Troy Hill Road in Troy Hill. About the same time, another witness told police the men had been kicked out of a bar for being rowdy and then threatened to shoot holes into its walls.

Ms. Richard said officers searched the men and found a can of OC spray, which is similar to pepper spray, and a "solid metal ball with an attached string."

Both men were taken to the Allegheny County Jail. Mr. Kurzawski was released on $10,000 bail, according to online court records. Mr. Schafer was being held on $20,000 bail stemming from the charges in Troy Hill and $50,000 bail stemming from the home invasion. neigh_city - breaking - neigh_north
