An 11-year-old boy killed in a multi-vehicle crash Friday in Springdale Township has been identified, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.
Kyle Rozman, of New Kensington, was transported by helicopter to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where he was pronounced dead, according to the medical examiner's office.
A Mitsubishi Eclipse that the child rode in traveled southbound on Riddle Run Road when the driver lost control and the car spun into the 1000-block of the northbound lane. A Kia Sorrento hit the driver's side of the Eclipse around 3:48 p.m.
"Slippery road conditions may have contributed to the loss of control," Allegheny County police Lt. Schurman wrote in a press release, adding alcohol and drugs are not thought to be a factor, but will be ruled out through lab tests.
The drivers of the cars were treated for minor injuries, he said. The drivers' names were not released Friday night.
