State police today charged a Fayette County man who they say was drunk when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed, killing his 19-year-old passenger in June.

Ethan S. Kenney, 19, of Dunbar faces charges including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, accident involving death, driving under the influence of alcohol and nine summary offenses in connection with the June 9 crash, in which Catherine A. Healy of the Bear Rocks area of Bullskin died, state police in the Uniontown barracks said in a press release today.

He drove a pickup truck south on Ridge Boulevard in Dunbar around 4 a.m. when he lost control and hit a guardrail and tree, state police said. Mr. Kenney, who had minor injuries, left the scene after EMS arrived, but before police got there, state police said, adding he was found a short time later. Ms. Healy, his passenger, suffered major head injuries and died after being flown to UPMC Presbyterian, state police said in a press release at the time.
