Pittsburgh police are searching for a man who smashed a window at the Downtown Macy's and stole several pairs of jeans this afternoon.

Sgt. Lavonnie Bickerstaff said officers responded about 1 p.m. to a burglary alarm at the store, 400 Fifth Ave.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect, described as a black male wearing a black puffy down jacket, black jeans and a black and gray baseball cap, used "some kind of instrument" to shatter the glass and stole several pairs of jeans, Sgt. Bickerstaff said.
