Allegheny County police arrested two men and a juvenile in connection with an early-morning shooting in a Monroeville school parking lot that left a man critically wounded.

An investigation by Monroeville and Allegheny County police resulted in the arrests of Christopher Jackson, 22, Antonio Ross, 18, and Jordan Smith, 17, who will be charged as an adult. The three were charged with aggravated assault, robbery and conspiracy.

Police said the victim drove with a woman to the parking lot of Sunrise School on Aura Drive at around 12:40 a.m. today to meet with the three to complete a transaction of some kind. The three intended to rob the victim, however.

The victim was standing outside the suspects' vehicle when the two sides argued and at least one shot was fired, striking the victim in the chest.

Drugs were most likely involved in the transaction, Sgt. Andrew Sherman of the Allegheny County police said, but he would not say what was stolen.

The victim initially was taken to West Penn Hospital's Forbes Regional Campus in Monroeville. He was transferred to Allegheny General Hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

The man's female companion was not injured. Police did not release their names.
