A kayaker on Thursday discovered the body of a man in Moraine State Park in Butler County, the second body found there this week, park officials said today.

Bryan Moore, the park's ranger supervisor, identified the man as Alvah "Ray" Strickenburg III, 43, formerly of New Castle.

Mr. Strickenburg on Monday had left the Hillsville house he was staying in after he and his former girlfriend had a fight, Mahoning police Chief James Morris said.

The kayaker saw his body lying on the north shore of Lake Arthur near the McDanels Boat Launch, Mr. Moore said.

On Tuesday, the body of Nicholas Sopel, 62, of Lyndora, was found in Lake Arthur by staff using an underwater camera donated by his family. He had been missing since mid-November, a park official said.

Butler County coroner's office officials were not immediately available.
