Upcoming event

Nov. 15-26: Jewish Culture Days in Munich (Judische Kulturtage Muenchen). Concerts, films, plays, lectures and art exhibits presented in various venues. The festival opens at the Jewish Community Center with a chamber opera called "The Emperor of Atlantis" by Viktor Ullmann, who died in 1944 at Auschwitz. Also, klezmer music, cabaret, poems and songs written by Jewish women in the Middle Ages, and more. Viktualienmarkt. A colorful, open-air market with 140 food vendors and a beer garden right off of Marienplatz. Buy sausages, bread, cheese, fruit, pastries, and beverages and find a spot at a table to watch the world walk by. Danel is a kosher food store in the market. Open Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Inexpensive.
