The Place: On Tuesday, more than 200 guests braved the wet weather to enjoy some wine tasting at La Casa Narcisi in West Deer.
The Purpose: The event, which raised roughly $100,000, benefited Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's cancer and blood disorder auxiliary. "We help kids right in our community as well as children from all over the world by increasing awareness and research capabilities to end these terrible childhood diseases," said Brian Harman, director of affiliated organizations and events.
#KidsGetCancerToo: Event chair Debbie DePew's 7-year-old daughter is a cancer survivor, which motivated her to give back. Co-chair Tiffany Casarcia recognized the lack of pediatric cancer funding and wanted to support a cause in her own backyard.
#SEEN: Super-volunteers John and Sue Hoover, Children's Foundation board member Steve Shangold with wife Maxine, board member Brooke Mullin, Deb Flaherty and Jimmy Campbell, Scott and Sue Lammie, Sharon Colaizzi, Lia Pelusi, Jake George, Dante and Erin Fusaro, Tony Sciullo, WTAE's Mike Clark, Common Pleas Judge Jill Rangos, Samuel Clyde Badger and Lyle and Laurel Odelein.
