The Purpose: To support BikePGH and kick-off the 10th annual BikeFest.
The Party: Bikefest is all about the wheel world and Friday night it was celebrated by more than 500 enthusiasts at the Opera headquarters in the Strip District. BikePGH executive director Scott Bricker ( with his wife Lena Andrews) welcomed guests to the VIP reception which included small plates by chefs Kevin Sousa, Chad Townsend and Jamilka Bourges. Games, Big Wheels for big kids at heart and a silent auction kept everyone circulating before the main party got under way with dancing to DJ’s Nate the Phat Barber, Selecta and Matty B.

The People: Among those partying for pedal power were Kim O’Dell, Becca Susman, Alex Berkman, Jane Kaminski, Richard Parsakian, Dutch McDonald, Nate Sandstrom, Cathy Rogers, Karen Brooks, Mary Peterson with Scott Cymbor, Mike Potoczny, Ron Hannan, Will Bruce, David Bennett and Cathy and Paul Rogers who rode their bicycles across the United States with Big Ride. “We both like to ride and it was on my husband’s bucket list,” said Mrs. Rogers. Next month bike lovers can join the Tour de Mon. Go to director@monyoughchamber.com for details.
