When, Where, Why: On Thursday, more than 350 guests ushered in the seemingly overdue arrival of spring at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens by celebrating the debut of the 2014 Butterfly Forest. The weather was warm, the air was crisp, and drinks were flowing.

“I’ve been coming to Phipps my whole life. This place is Pittsburgh,” said Bob Powell, who toured the butterfly room with wife, Tina.

Get in on the Fun: Make your own Massaro Sparkler (signature drink named after event chair, Carol Massaro) by mixing 24 ounces peach nectar, 1 bottle of white wine, 1 sliced orange and 1 liter of club soda or top it off with champagne. Cheers!

Everyone Was Talking About ... Summer Travels! Now that spring has arrived, there was excitement in the air as people mingled, dishing about where they plan on traveling this summer. Carol Kamin said she wants to go back to Antarctica. She’s been there twice and “fell in love with the purity and serenity.”

Seen: Bill and Vivian Benter, Jeff and Wendy Dutkovic, Barb McGinley, Dan Gilman, Rich and Kathy Fitzgerald, Frank Rath and Diana Mrvos Rath, Joel and Mia Bernard, Pam Turczyn, Janet Summers, and Scott and Sue Lammie.
