Guests couldn't help but feel inspired by the incredible stories of courage and hope from kidney disease survivors at Saturday's Kidney Gift of Life Gala for the National Kidney Foundation at the Heinz Field East Club Lounge. Among those who have survived (and thrived) are event chair Phil Petraglia, whose wife and co-chair, Ginny, is a kidney donor. Guests also heard from those who support survivors in their fight.
"I'm so grateful for the work that I do and that I am able to bring awareness to this often-overlooked disease," said Dr. Kevin Ho, one of the recipients of the Gift of Life Award for his years of work in the field.
After speeches and cocktails, 350 guests decked out in black and gold (the evening's theme) perused silent auction items (which helped raise roughly $175,000), enjoyed a gourmet meal and danced to the live band, Protege. Also seen were Courtney Lynch Crawford, James Sullivan, James Conner, David Vanella, Kevin Heher, and Dr. Rita McGill.
