There couldn't have been a better way to kick off the weekend than with cocktails, good food and jazz music, all to support Familylinks, which provides individuals and families with the tools needed to thrive in today's world. Familylinks Just Jazz II: Brass & Steel, presented by BNY Mellon Jazz, welcomed 225 guests to the Twentieth Century Club in Oakland on Friday.
"This is a great event that we hold each year to raise awareness of what we do and how we strengthen our communities," said Fred Massey, Familylinks CEO.
While honorary chair Bill Hillgrove was unable to make it, Benny Benack III, Houston Person, Roger Humphries, Lisa Ferraro and others kept guests entertained, helping to raise $55,000.
Afterward, guests were invited to enjoy an after party at the James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy on the North Side. Also on the scene were Lee and Lisa Oleinick, Sandra Nicklas, Joe McHugh, Christine Cooper and Steve Meredith.
