On Thursday evening about 100 guests arrived at Ross Park Mall to toast a new store and a good cause. The mall’s lower level is home to the country’s first Armani Collezioni store, and a cocktail gathering benefiting the Mario Lemieux Foundation was held to celebrate its opening. Guests browsed the store’s selection of luxury men and women’s apparel and accessories over champagne and hors d’oeuvres, complemented by petite chocolates imprinted with Armani’s signature “A.” Among them were Mario and Nathalie Lemieux, store general manager Devin Orsi, board member Dr. Andrew Urbach and his wife, Cindy, foundation executive director Nancy Angus and KDKA-TV sports anchor Bob Pompeani, accompanied by his wife, Lisa, and daughters Celina and Chelsea. The event also attracted guests from the Giorgio Armani Corp. in New York, including retail and trade marketing supervisor Victoria Columb. From Thursday through Saturday, a percentage of the store’s sales was donated to the Mario Lemieux Foundation. — Sara Bauknecht
