Attack Theatre hosts Dirty Ball

Exotic, erotic, terrifically quixotic, the zebra velour-covered bar and red velvet walls lit by little more than grinning guests kept VIPs secluded for the Dirty Donor Reception during Attack Theatre's fifth annual Dirty Ball at the former Sports Rock Cafe in the Strip. The evening to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the dance company founded by Michele de la Reza and Peter Kope featured 15 dancers and 15 performances. "It all started in our guest room 15 years ago, and now we have a $500,000 budget and are international," said Ms. de la Reza.

The event lived up to its reputation for tantalizing titillation when the dance company gave the first performance. A single candle was the only light as guests caught glimpses of the sensual movements of a topless dancer for part of the intimate "A Birthday Burlesque." That was one of the perks of a VIP ticket, as was all-evening access to the Richard Parsakian-designed Velvet Lounge. "He outdid himself. It is amazing," noted donor reception co-chairs Michele Petruccelli and Manuel Reich.

Once general admission began, the first and second floors quickly filled with more than 1,000 guests. Two major dance floors, the Dirty Secrets Booth and phones for "anonymous" chats occupied guests. Some wore their best leather or pleather, others in fishnet and lace and all enjoying the spread by Culinary Artists. Leading the ribald revelry were party chairs Dan Iddings and Cari Marty. Joining in were Eric Shiner, Richard Rauh, Francine Abraham, Bill and Vivian Benter, Matt Lancaster, Nicole Skeltys, Jeff Weimer, Mike Davis, Dutch MacDonald and Becky Mingo.
