The New York import lasted just under a year in Pittsburgh’s North Side.
The Pittsburgh Rugby Club's Brufest runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 23, at Circuit Center, 5 Hot Metal St., South Side.
Admission is $40 or $45 (fast lane entrance), and holders of VIP tix ($60) get in an hour early. You get a souvenir tasting glass and, for every non-perishable food item you bring to donate, a ticket for a prize raffle.
Get tickets and other information at http://pghrugby.com/brewfest.
On the list of brewers there you'll see one you may not have heard of: Eleventh Hour. The Pittsburgh operation is in the early start-up phase and still seeking investors and a building and licensing, says its head brewer and president Matt McMahon, who notes that the plan is to open a bigger-than-usual (20-barrel) brewhouse perhaps late in 2014.
You can get a taste of it at the fest and at eleventhhourbrews.com.
