The Landmarks Preservation Resource Center in Wilkinsburg is sponsoring several free workshops/seminars this month.

10-11:30 a.m.: Residential Landscape Design -- Landscape architect Bill Paxton will discuss site, soil, trees, landscape plants, ornaments, hardscape, seasons, historical restoration and special gardens. today

6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: How to Frame a Wall -- You will learn safe use of hand and power tools, layout, measuring and cutting, and framing a wall with a window and a door.

6-7:30 p.m. March 25: Flooring -- Wood and laminate flooring products are designed for the DIYer. But with so many products on the market, it is critical to have a clear understanding of the materials available today. In this session, students will learn about the materials and installation of solid wood, engineered wood and laminate flooring.

6-7:30 p.m. March 27: Flooring 2 -- This session will cover the installation of solid wood, engineered wood and laminate flooring.
