Since 1947, the Post-Gazette's Goodfellows Fund has worked to make sure that every child receives a toy at Christmas. In 1999, the Goodfellows campaign joined forces with the Marines Corps Toys for Tots program, which works with about 150 agencies to distribute toys to children.

Other needy families can get toys during a Toys for Tots open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14 and 15 at Guardian Storage Solutions, 2839 Liberty Ave., Strip District. Parents and guardians should bring a photo ID for themselves, a birth certificate for each child (children up to age 12 are eligible) and proof of need -- welfare check stub, food stamp card or other proof of government assistance.

Tax-deductible contributions to the fund can be made using the coupon above or by going to www.post-gazette.com/goodfellows. Every contribution will be acknowledged in the newspaper.
