The New York import lasted just under a year in Pittsburgh’s North Side.
If you hear sounds of “Winter Wonderland” on a muggy, rainy 80-something-degree day in Downtown Pittsburgh, you have not gone bonkers.
Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust are hosting the annual Christmas in July from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Market Square Farmers Market.
Santa will be at the Square and so will vendors from Peoples Gas Holiday Market. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will be selling advance tickets for holiday shows by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Public Theater and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. CLO Mini Stars will take the stage to perform holiday favorites and selfies can be taken with a special “fragile” lamp from “A Christmas Story.”
You also take in tidings of comfort and joy with holiday market vendors such as Linda Barnicott (cityscape paintings), European Folk Art and Fabulous Homemade Cookies in addition to the fresh produce and prepared food stands.
